Shot Mapping
Connect every stat to where it happened on the court — location, paint touches, and zone breakdowns.
Start Shot MappingWhat it does
Shot Mapping connects every shot to a place on the court. It's included with both Scorekeeping and Full Stat Tracking: every shot, and every event that has a location, is logged with its court position — building points in the paint, zone breakdowns, and shot charts for a single game, a full season, or an entire league, automatically. Nothing else about the game changes: the score, clock, fouls, and minutes — plus assists and shooting percentages with Full Stat Tracking — are still there, and still calculated the same way. Shot Mapping is where that data stops living in separate rows of a table and starts describing a place. Competitive programs use the maps to scout their own tendencies and their opponents'; league directors use the same maps to compare programs across an entire league on equal footing, because every team is mapped the same way. Recording location takes a little more attention from whoever's tracking the game, but the payoff is a season you can literally see, not just read.
